Details & FREE Returns POWERFUL 1800 LUMEN BEAM - Upgraded to be even brighter, the NITECORE MH25GTS offers an incredibly 1800 lumen beam with 332 yards throw ideal for hunting, camping, exploring, emergencies, tactical and everything in between. APPLY TO REVIEW MH25GTS. ?There are 2 types of switches on the Nitecore MH25GTS flashlight. So that was way too weak! See the picture below for more clarification. No other compensation was provided. For flashlights that are intended to use on a daily basis (EDC)/tactical EDC and for possibly a long period of time, form factor is extremely important. For this light, the spill, corona and hotspot is somewhat predictable due to the relatively deep Smooth Reflector. But when I did that, I cut the thread that attaches the velcro part to the holster.. When you use it as a momentary on, you can change the modes, so the Momentary on works with all modes, including strobe.Camera settings: Canon EOS 5D markII 50mm, ISO 1600, F4, 1/4 second shutter speed, 5000K. From Left to Right: Nitecore NL1835HP 18650 battery, Nitecore MH25GTS, Nitecore MH12GTS, Nitecore P12GTS, Nitecore EC30, Nitecore MT21C, and Nitecore LR12. The knurling is done well and a bit rough, meaning the edges are a bit sharp. With the LED used, the beam is “throwy” for recognising items in the near to mid-range distance.Mode spacing appears to be progressively brighter to the eye and the modes are well spaced enough to be able to know which mode one is currently in. The main switch at the tailcap, and 1 side switch for the mode changing. It also helps that the LED is perfectly centred in this sample. So if I ever had to change the driver, that could become a nightmare. Unfortunately though, the parts of the flashlights seem to be glued. There are some rings in the beam when white wall hunting but not visible in real world usage. On a side note, it is great seeing that Nitecore went with a HIGH mode of 950 lumens instead of 1000 lumens to ensure a longer runtime and will run slightly cooler, as the difference in output is almost imperceptible to most human eyes. The light was subjected to warm water submersion, followed by cold water submersion and left under room temperature running water tap whilst running on TURBO (with & without the charging port’s rubber cover in place). The light cannot be operated on any modes when charging. There is a total of 2 switches on the flashlight – TAIL mechanical switch & SIDE electronic switch. It is able to tail-stand perfectly, even with the lanyard attached (either on the Tactical Ring or tailcap). I couldn't unscrew the head from the body. The edges on the flashlight are rather sharp, not cutting sharp, but still unpleasantly sharp.
The prints on the MG25GTS are also crisp and clear, no complaints there either. When the Voltage drops to a certain point, the light behind the side switch will start blinking rapidly, and the light will turn into its lowest output mode...29000cd is still more than the manufacturer claimed at 23000.1669 lumens is quite impressive for this size of light.
I dont really know why. These days manufacturers tend to make shorter and shorter flashlights, but this it sill quite long. I will show some comparison pictures below. These threads are bare, with lots of lube.
It's still rather a long flashlight compared to my other 18650 flashlights. For this light, a guesstimate would be in the 6500K and 70CRI ballpark. With the provided Micro-USB Cable, the battery was charging at ~0.66A.No signs of water intrusion in the head, body, switch or charging port was seen.UI for this light is suitable for both Every Day Carry (EDC) and tactical usage as it is rather straightforward to use. This light feels well balanced in a medium sized hand (not head/tail-heavy). The mechanic tailcap switch is a forward clicky (like all tactical flashlights should have) and besides the button you can find the USB port for the built-in charge function. So I hope I never need to replace the LED though. It should help with the grip though.Compared to the Jetbeam TH20 I reviewed earlier, the Nitecore MH25GTS is quite a bit smaller, about the size of the old Sunwayman V20C. The switch isn't sticking out as much as the Jetbeam TH20 which makes it more difficult to use with gloves.I can only check the threads near the tailcap.
Check out the details below. The build quality is great. As with all gears, two is one and one is none. Still, for something between EDC\ Tactical flashlight is looks definitely good, you easily can say it`s a brand thing. But the MH25GTS is a good performer, but a little on the expensive side.Charge level indicator /battery level indicator:I couldn't get any readings on the tailcap. Switching between overhand and underhand holding method is easy with its form factor.
