(The Center Square) – Eighteen companies with headquarters located in Florida earned a place on Fortune magazine’s 2020 list ranking enterprises with the 500 highest fiscal-year revenues in the nation. Cumulatively, Richmond’s Fortune 500 companies earned a combined $93.6 billion in revenue last year, up from $89 billion the previous year. In a multiyear study conducted by Deloitte and the Alliance for Board Diversity, Comcast Corp., Aramark and Campbell Soup Company all ranked in the top 35 among the Fortune 500 firms for boardroom diversity. Almost half of Philadelphia’s residents are African-American, according to U.S. Census data.
Women make up 36 percent of the board of Campbell Soup; they compose 27 percent of Aramark’s board; and 18 percent of Comcast’s board are women.The audit recommends building a “civil rights infrastructure” into every aspect of the company, as well as a “stronger interpretation” of existing voter suppression policies.
