Is it a repeating pattern of 3 + 1? Thanks.Hi Jean – yes, you lose a stitch when you single crochet across the chain. (I did around it.) We get stumped rows 2=6 then after 9. Thank you for sharing! Do you happen to know what stitches I would use to get the same effect?Hi! Thank you for sharing the pattern. It also took me more time than usual to edit the pattern since there are color changes and a couple of different stitches involved.
Beautiful! I am going to try this stitch on a rag rug. Ch 1, turn. Did I mention that I’m slooooooow when it comes to making blankets?
Very true – it is hard to make a blanket during those months. I love love love this stitch & your beautiful design~ Please can you confirm the instructions are correct to repeat row 6 or should it be 7?Hi Sheeny! She uses 12 st in her swatch.
I’m so glad that you like the blanket Judy and thanks so much for the kind words. Any tips? I love this blanket, but I’m a knitter.
Does that help? Well, this particular stitch isn’t that hard but it certainly looks pleasing, so check the blanket out on Just in case the words that caught your attention the best so far were “stripes” and “unique stitches”, then here’s a blanket pattern that combines the two very well indeed! I hope when I get to the last section of the blanket I am not 1 stitch short to finish the pattern. There is an extra single crochet stitch in each row and that’s what makes it work with the odd stitch count. Besides celebrating your very favourite stitch, this pattern also gives you a chance to stripe and play with colours. Love this pattern! You can find several helpful YouTube videos on how to make this stitch if you’ve never done it. Thank you! So beautiful!
On row 7-9, do I still sc into the chain spaces or into the stitches?
Then you So far we’ve talked about both striping and cables in crochet, but what if you’d like to combine the two?
Hope this might help!I am wondering about rows 30 – 47 and if I am reading it correctly.
Like a baby blanket. I will add the term “Moss Stitch” above as well. I noticed that the main color and the contrasting color look like they are listed as the same weight. Happy crocheting!such a beautiful pattern and I love the colors.I find it to be one of the softest wools that I have touched. If I wanted to make this with Bernat blanket yarn, which is super bulky (6) weight, would I need to change anything? There are 740 heirloom crochet afghan pattern for sale on Etsy, and they cost $6.10 on average. Obviously, it isn’t like a super soft fleecy actrylic or cotton, but it is very soft for being wool.I’m glad it’s going well! Thank you for sharing this charming pattern.Hi Laura! Yes, you simply want to keep an odd number of stitches. Row 105 will be the contrast color, so you change back to to the main color. this will make a great graduation gift.I’m so glad that you like it!
