I'm unsure what program to use to play my music.
Volumio + Squeezelite plugin VS Squeezelite distro. I thought they were all the same at base level?
Runeaudio uses this one:And until this point is only engineering, science and human biology. Some CACHE parameter. Just make sure you use the same partition name you did above during the fdisk process (for me, the stock image ended up putting rootfs on /dev/mmcblk0p2).Did someone meet that problem ? Don't really know which one is the best. I agree a lot with what Soundcheck wrote. here is a quick procedure to upgrade runeaudio for hifiberry digi+pro starting from the last img (called RuneAudio_rpi2_rp3_0.4-beta_20160321_2GB.img)Which image will work with the Digi+ Pro, I have a new Digi+ Pro but can't get it going. Some CACHE parameter. At the moment volumio is totally a winner as runeaudio can’t mount my usb disk, after every reboot audio Volume is lowered and I have to enable the Mixer, set it to 100 and then Disable it again and there is a annoying sound when I change a song. More data passes through eth or usb, more chance to get crackles.
found solution ?totally agree with Carter, the RuneAudio extend-partition procedure is a generic procedure that each has to adapt with the name of his partition on his card.
Ok, that's said now.Yep, I also have a bit of a delay that forces the first 0.n seconds out of my playback. This is probably false for you. General discussion about RuneAudio. The volume level remains 100% after reboot. I'd love to actually hear what it can do, but so far, nothing.
I rekon maybe not the fact of the digi+, nor the DAC, but certainly the configuration of the digi+pro into RuneAudio. Arch linux kernel update breaks Runeaudio and I can't get any sound out of Volumio even though i can see it listed as a device when I do a aplay -l. Anyone else had success getting the Digi+ Pro to work?
About RuneAudio and Volumio. It’s a kernel\driver\bus combination of issues. My dac does not support 24/192, so please ignore the above reference to it.Pi has bandwith issues, these are resulting in crackles and noise. Don't hear much difference (maybe my ears are not so good anymore after 54+ years) between MPD-based or LMS-based players. The latest version is top notch. Hi ppl, Just a question around OS selection for music playback. Arch linux kernel update breaks Runeaudio and I can't get any sound out of Volumio even though i can see it listed as a device when I do a aplay -l. Anyone else had success getting the Digi+ Pro to work? The sound goes from the Digi+ PRO to my DAC (a NAIM v1) using a coaxial (QED Reference Digital Audio 40) cable.2. I'll update this post when Im back home and can read the system I'm running. Both distributions got samples from us, but I can't say when the updated kernel will be included in their distributions. Are they all the same? But my favorite by far is PiCorePlayer, as it is the truest sound of the bunch.
