We ended up going around in circles but we still had fun.Great trails. Supposedly there is a way to shuttle it too. The area is great for mountain bike riding, with some single track and some technical sections. $7 entry fee.We camped and rode the trails for 3 days in late September. A close drive to historic Fredericksburg and minutes to Johnson City, Flat Creek Crossing Ranch is a 500 acre guest ranch located in the rolling Texas Hill Country and sits adjacent to Pedernales Falls State Park. My wife is a beginner and she had fun on the lower loop.
Flat Creek Crossing Ranch offers some real gnar and some great flowy trails with fun jumps and drops mixed in. The pavement ends four miles later at the gate to Flat Rock Ranch. Recimmended. Too bad it was so hard finding my way around. Fill out the envelopes (at the entrance) and drop your money in the box. Challenging XC on the lower loop.

Flat Creek Crossing Ranch is a privately owned hiking and mountain biking area with cabins for rent that is open 8 am - 9 pm, all week. Overall, the trails are great here, very well-maintained and the owners of this private ranch are very personable mountain biking folk. Upper loop more technical. Tent and RV camping is not currently allowed. The owner is a great guy and jumped our car when we ran down the battery one night. Packed with switchbacks, nice climbs and sweet descents to match, Flat Rock Ranch is a singletrack lover’s playground…just watch out for the cacti and prickly bushes, of course.
Of the two, the lower loop required far less hike-a-biking and had some great, flowy sections as well as fun switchback descents. Have road it twice to date and once was for a race and the upper loop is a lot of climbing so great for XC but certain trails that drop off of it have almost a downhill feel to them. Cabins are available - please call (512) 696-1512 for details and reservations. Please close any gate you open on the property. Bring your own water and tools and a couple of tubes! Tent and RV camping is not currently allowed. Day use is $10/day for adults and $5/day for children 5 to 12. There is a shower. Some technical stuff.
