Flights were perfect, (Delta) long way from Wisconsin! I ended up leaving early and booking a room at the Hilton across the street. The staff are very attentive to our needs and very friendly. On the positive side, the sleep experience was good, quiet with good bedding. Some are regular hotel (what we did), there are private condos, apart-hotel and travel club levels. I think the ensuite needs an upgrade especially the bathtub, the tv in the master room doesn't work, and the internet too.
They should make everyone go in the poolI think we are going to far as to cancel everything, yes you have to take precaution, wash you hands and don’t touch your face, but to close down the one place where there is no virus is just plain stupidThe 2 bedroom unit was bigger than my house, lol! Eek! We were told the process of moving units would be easy - it was anything but easy! Will never stay here again and suggest you don’t either. It is pretty good hotel with clean ,quiet and facilitated.
We have stayed at other Ashton's and we're impressed by the grounds of this one as well. We could tell our room had been recently updated, but it still maintianed that traditional Hawaiian charm. Our upstairs shower was leaking down a vent into the half bath downstairs. Probably lacks a decent restaurant but is central enough that you can go to the many that surround the place. I would probably try somewhere new if we make it back to Maui, but this place fit the bill for what we we paid. The staff is great! If I was, I would have been OK, and would have realized I could have just asked for new towels.. but the lack of communication was poor. Also, CONSTRUCTION. I wondered what would have happened if we had come back to the unit after office hours? Not impressed anyway- wouldn’t recommend. These are lovely Villa style units which have fallen upon disrepair. Now anyone with any common sense knows that thief has no intent of returning the propane tank so just get a new one! I actually enjoyed eating noodles for breakfast The pancakes were very good as well. I have stayed away from this kind of accommodation after getting burned like this years ago. From the first moment you walk into the Mahana you feel welcomed by the gracious front desk staff. The unit though is showing signs of aging which was apparent in broken blinds lading to the patio. Staff is kind and helpful. You can hunker down, or take off for the day with the cooler and ice provided for your use.
One bedroom, 2 bathroom condo. It’s become the new standard for public places and businesses. We go to Maui once, sometimes twice a year and always stay at Kaanapali Shores, we are always treated with Aloha from the time we check in until the time we check out.The resort is quite at night, except for an hour when the birds get settled :)The 2 pools are always clean and the surrounding area is cleaned every morning. Our room was cleaned daily. Each condo is different but we had to purchase a few beach essentials (cooler, chairs) since the ones provided didn’t work.
Not the fault of the hotel but Oahu has a serious homeless problem and it shows, in this area, at night.Dear Management Upon checking into the room we were told that they gave us a different room then requested. Daily amenity fee waived.Property was beautiful as was the 3 bedroom villa we stayed in.....couldn't have asked for a better location. There are many, many beautiful units that have been remodeled, but at least a few that have not!
Also, their website states they offer Kama'aina a free upgrade if available - no mention of this either.Secondly, elevators were very slow - there are only 2, and one was broken. We’ve stay there twice and are already planning our next visit.
We were right by the pool and hot tub, but really wanted the ocean. The beds in each room were the most uncomfortable and wrapped in some kind a plastic coving the matress.
It was certainly an upgrade. Our bedroom did have an AC unit that we did use a few times, but not every day.
It's like home.
The grounds are gorgeous. Driving in and out is much easier due to location, and parking spaces are directly in front of the unit. The Aston banyan has been our go to place every time we have been to Hawaii, the units are very clean and comfortable with great amenities. The location to everything is great and local transportation is just around the corner. We have stayed 4 times and each tome they look after us due to loyalty. The staff are awesome and happy to accommodate your needs if possible.I revisited Hawaii after many years and found the island to be as friendly and welcoming as before. We like the Whaler but will stay in a different unit next time. His friendly attitude, his lively spirit made for an UNFORGETTABLE stay!
Ive stayed here many times and would definitely recommend it! My room wasn't ready but front desk found 3608 available so I assigned this one. I loved having the ability to cook our meals in the condo, BBQ, or walk to a restaurant.
